How to become a ninja in Club Penguin
About Ninjas
Club Penguin Ninjas had been a source of rumor and legend for years, but was finally brought into reality by Disney in November 2008, changing Club Penguin forever with the introduction of the Dojo and Card-Jitsu.
Things were shaken up again in November 2009, when a new area was introduced for members, the Fire Dojo. In the new elemental area of the Dojo, member penguins could become Fire Ninjas.
Based on the previous two years, it is highly-anticipated and expected that there will be another elemental addition to the Dojo, the Water Dojo. The Water Dojo is likely to be a member-only area as well, and members will likely be able to become Water Ninjas.
In order to advance to an elemental ninja, you must first become a Club Penguin ninja, by playing Card-Jitsu until you achieve your black belt and beat Sensei. Don’t bother trying to beat Sensei without your black belt, the game makes it impossible.
Club Penguin Ninja Walkthrough
1. Use your map and click on the Dojo.
2. Waddle through the front door of the Dojo and click on Sensei, shown below.
3. Sensei will teach you the basics of Card-Jitsu in haiku form. Visit our Card-Jitsu Cheats page for in-depth information on how to beat anyone in Card-Jitsu.

Club Penguin Earning Ninja Belts
There are 3 levels of Card-Jitsu play, based on the highest belt you have achieved: Basic, Medium and Advanced. You will be paired with other penguins within the same level of play. The belt colors match those of Karate in real life.
BASIC LEVEL
- No Belt – 0
- White Belt – First degree
- Yellow Belt – Second degree
- Orange Belt – Third degree
MEDIUM LEVEL
- Green Belt – Fourth degree
- Blue Belt – Fifth degree
- Red Belt – Sixth degree
ADVANCED LEVEL
- Purple Belt – Seventh degree
- Brown Belt – Eighth degree
- Black Belt – Ninth degree
You are awarded new belts based on the total number of wins that you have in Card-Jitsu. We have seen estimates of how many wins for each belt color and they vary widely, but this is our best estimate for belt levels and the closest we can come up with. Club Penguin will remember how many wins you have when you log out, so you don’t have to do this all at once!
- White belt – 5 wins
- Yellow belt – 10 wins
- Orange belt – 20 wins
- Green belt – 30 wins
- Blue belt – 40 wins
- Red belt – 50 wins
- Purple belt – 60 wins
- Brown belt – 75 wins
- Black belt – 90 wins
Club Penguin Beating Sensei
Once you’ve earned your black belt, you have to beat Sensei to become a ninja. Battling Sensei in Card-Jitsu isn’t for the lighthearted. He will beat you, no matter what you do, for the first 5-10 times. The game is programmed to beat you on every hand, so don’t get discouraged — you can still beat him, just keep using your usual strategy.
After you’ve gotten through those first 5-10 guaranteed losses, you will recognize that Sensei will make mistakes and you can beat him! If you don’t win this time, try again and he’ll pwn you a few more times and then have another “bad” game where you can beat him. Make sure to read our Card-Jitsu Strategy Guide for the best Card-Jitsu cheats so you can be prepared to beat him when you get the chance!
Congratulations! You’re a Club Penguin Ninja! Sensei will give you a Ninja Mask once you beat him, confirming your status as a ninja – wear it with pride, you’ve earned it!
